CBT Centre/School ICT Room Design
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is an important part of our daily life, from computers in the workplace to mobile phones and ICT suites are central to this.
At Elegant Suite we feel that it is essential to invest in the very best facilities and equipment for the education of our children, giving them the knowledge and skills they need to survive the 21st century.
Children have access to computers at home and school from a very early age, so having the right environment in which to study this subject is vital. What better way to do this than by creating dedicated IT suites in our schools and colleges.
A new ICT suite, whether it’s a new build or the refurbishment of an existing classroom, can be a substantial investment for any school or college; therefore, the right design and furnishings are essential. Research suggests that if students actually like the learning environment, then they are more likely to want to learn!.
We have extensive experience within the education sector, designing ICT suites that make the most of the available space, creating ideal learning and teaching environments. We believe ICT suites should be; well equipped, comfortable, secure and spacious. As a result, we take into account the furniture, layout, equipment, lighting, flooring, ventilation, noise levels, technical setup, networking, decorating and security when designing this space, working closely with you from concept right through to installation and handover.
We are sure you’ll agree, investing in an ICT suite can benefit today’s young generation, preparing them for entering the work environment whatever their chosen career.
If you’re considering investing in your ICT suite, please contact us to discuss the options for your site. We will happily pay you a visit, discuss any project or ideas you have, take measurements and then provide you with a recommended solution.
Server Setup/Management
As your business grows and you take on more employees, the time will come where you need a server to keep your office network and business running efficiently. But with a seemingly endless array of choices and important decisions to be made, you might be wondering where to start. Luckily, at Elegant Suite our server specialists are ready to setting up a server for your business, setting up a server for business doesn’t have to be difficult since we are here to work with you.
What is a server?
In simple terms, it’s a powerful computer that is used to serve information and software to employees, customers, and other computers. For example, if you have five employees in an office each working on a different computer, they should all be able to access the same software and documents. These are served from a central computer rather than having multiple versions of the files stored locally on each machine.
Choosing a server for small businesses.
Once you have two or more computers in your business or need remote access to the company network, it’s time to invest in a server. Doing so will allow you and your employees to access software and files from anywhere and give you greater control over access rights to certain information, such as personnel files or payroll data. It will also give you the ability to protect your business information with a dedicated backup and recovery system, as well as allow for easier management of network security.
Types of server for businesses.
When it comes to choosing a server for any business, the key question is: what do you need the server to do? In essence, you want to allow your business room to grow, but not invest so heavily that you’re overpaying for resources you don’t need.
There are many different types of server and organizations will often use a separate server for each purpose. Most commonly, business servers are used for:
Secure email hosting
Website hosting
Document storage
Ecommerce hosting
Hosting line-of-business applications
Data backup and recovery.
Proxy servers are worth considering for businesses of any size. By routing web traffic and access through a proxy, your network’s IP addresses are protected from public view (the proxy IP address is shown instead). This anonymity offers your business an additional layer of security.
Hardware or the cloud – choosing the right server for your business.
A crucial decision you will need to make is whether to have a physical server on-premises or opt for a cloud-based solution. There are pros and cons to each approach and what you decide ultimately comes down to the individual needs of your business.
Cloud servers.
Cloud-based servers are well-suited to small businesses with limited space and IT resources. While not as fast or efficient as a dedicated server, small businesses will likely find that a cloud-based server is ‘fast enough’ and the lower upfront costs make them an attractive option. Cloud hosting also benefits from redundant power supply and network connections, meaning that if there is a power outage or server issue, your network won’t experience any downtime.
On-premise servers.
On the other hand, opting to build or buy a physical server comes with a higher upfront cost. But not paying recurring monthly fees may mean that it works out cheaper in the long run, especially as your business grows. You will also have greater control over how it is set up and integrated with your business cybersecurity solution. The downside is that you are responsible for the cost of replacement hardware and increased electricity for running and cooling the server 24/7.
Protecting your business servers.
When utilizing a server within your operations, it is important to ensure it’s protected. Endpoint security is crucial when trying to keep your network safe from Viruses, Malware or data breaches. Your server will hold confidential information about your business and its operations, but will also store your employees’ personal data. There are several steps you can take to keep your data secure: provide cybersecurity training for any necessary members of staff, use a server antivirus, track user activity, keep your server up-to-date.
Choosing what's right for you.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to setting up a small business network. Instead, think about the specific requirements of your business, such as:
The size of your office
Number and type of devices your business uses
What applications your business runs
What files employees need to share
How you will protect your network
Your future expansion plans.
A key consideration when setting up your network is whether to go wired or wireless. While a wireless setup gives you more flexibility in terms of your office layout and design, an Ethernet connection (wired) is generally more reliable, faster, and less expensive. Because of this, some businesses opt to install both a wired and wireless network.
Networking
We take network security very seriously. When it comes to using the internet, we set your browser security and privacy settings to ensure that the network is protected from viruses, spam and hacking attempts.
A computer network is an essential element of modern business, and it's increasingly indispensable in the home, too. A network lets your computer connect to the Web so that you can check e-mail, update a website, or teleconference. It also lets you communicate locally with other computers on the same local network.
Setting up a network is a good way to get more use out of your computers and peripherals, particularly for small and home business users.
+ Networks allow you to share a single broadband internet connection among multiple computers and PC users, and they are able to share files among computers more easily and share software resources such as diaries.
+ Networking also allows you to use a printer connected to a different computer, and access media and other resources, such as images and music, which are stored remotely or across the office.
Wired, Wireless or Both?
More small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are using wireless networking equipment, particularly since it has fallen in price and become easier to configure and use. Wireless networking allows you to have a more attractive and arguably safer office environment with fewer cables around. It gives you more flexibility about where you locate your IT kit, and you can use your laptop from anywhere in your office. It also allows you to offer visitors wireless internet access or hot-desk facilities.
However, Ethernet-based wired networking can still have the edge over wireless equipment in being more reliable, lower cost and offering faster connection speeds. Wireless signals, on the other hand, can vary depending on the layout of an office, the thickness of the walls and sometimes even the weather.
Network Security
After we setup a network, we ensure it is protected. We do this through the security settings in the router, or the operating system. Also using technologies such as wireless encryption protocol (WEP) for a wireless network, which uses passwords to encrypt the network traffic.
Other options are using:
+ Windows and network log ins and passwords to limit access to the network to authorised users.
+ Using hardware security such as fingerprint recognition, security and password keys, and full disk encryption to further protect the network.
We take network security very seriously. When it comes to using the internet, we set your browser security and privacy settings to ensure that the network is protected from from viruses, spam and hacking attempts.
There are other additional security packages to protect and maintain the network perimeters, checking for attacks from both the outside and the inside. These packages are deployed depending on the scale of your network.
We setup new and we manage existing networking and server room of: Homes, Offices, Schools, Companies, Hotels or Small Businesses.

02 - Access Control.
Access Control systems can be simply defined as the process by which security staff control who enters and leaves the premises and when. Access control technically includes the time-honoured mechanical lock and key, but when people talk about access control in the modern security industry, they mean sophisticated electronic turnstiles, gates, wireless locks and other barriers.
Keys can be lost, stolen and copied, leaving assets vulnerable and requiring an expensive change of locks. Happily, when an electronic access card is lost or stolen, access rights can be withdrawn immediately, rendering the card inactive. Should thieves gain access before a theft is noticed, operators can identify when they breached security and - if there are multiple access points - where in the building they are at any given time.
Modern access-control systems also offer flexible access rights. For example, while all staff can generally gain access through a building's main entrance, access to certain internal areas may be restricted to those with relevant authority. Access can also be restricted to specific time periods.
The plastic access card has long been the dominant form of identity verification. While they still govern access for most installed systems, biometric solutions - usually authenticating identity through facial, fingerprint and iris recognition - are becoming more reliable, affordable and widespread.
Often accused of being a conservative industry the access control sector is finally emulating its CCTV counterpart in embracing IP, open-platform technology, the internet of things and integration with, and interoperability between, building systems. Mobile access - gaining access using smartphones - is one burgeoning trend with numerous operational benefits.
Whatever be your safety requirements, Elegant Suite is the right choice because we have simply covered all the possible angles in security installation requirements of our clients. We ensure there will be no breach in security whatever!.
